Railway

The railway has been important in The Pas since its arrival in 1908, and became even more important in 1929 when the railway expanded to Churchill. The railway in The Pas enabled goods and people to be transported to and from the community with much greater ease. With the increased economic activity both from the construction of the railway and the shipments, The Pas experienced a big economic boom. Many townspeople lobbied for the building of the railway, most notably Herman Finger.
