This avenue was named for the Gordon family who were one of the original families in The Pas and who invested in the North’s mining industry. Together with another town local, pilot Carl Sherritt, they co-owned the Sherritt-Gordon Mine. In addition, J.H. Gordon was the first land surveyor in town.
