Frechette

Nazaire Frechette was born on March 15th, 1887 at St. Nicolas outside of Quebec City. In 1916 Nazaire purchased a place on Larose Avenue and operated a dairy farm, starting with only two cows. The dairy was relocated eight years later further out of town to accommodate growth. By 1927 there were over one hundred cows, one hundred pigs, as well as a processing plant. The dairy continued to expand, and in 1962 the Frechette sons, Marcel and John, sold the dairy to Modern Dairies.
