Guymer Crescent may be named for the entire family, or specifically for the remarkable Violet Guymer. She became the first licensed female embalmer and undertaker in North America in 1919, and the services she provided were indispensable to the community. Violet Guymer remained the only licenced female undertaker in Canada for twenty years.
