Désiré de Tremauden moved to The Pas in 1911 along with his brother, Auguste de Tremauden. Désiré was a local store owner in The Pas. Auguste, who wrote some of the first history books on Manitoba, left for the states after a time, although not before founding the first newspaper in town: The Pas Herald.
