Ovide Charlebois was born in Oka, Quebec, February 17th, 1862. Ordained into the priesthood in 1887, Charlebois was sent to a number of remote locations for ministry. He was highly influential in th e construction of hospitals in The Pas. Charlebois resided in The Pas from 1911 to his death in 1933, still traveling to visit parishioners in the surrounding regions.
