This artifact is a standard Remington typewriter with Cree Syllabics instead of English letters on the keys.  It is secured in the case by two clamps.  It can be removed.  Case has a black handle at the front as well as a clasp on either side of it. It was used by the clergy of the Archdiocese of Keewatin in The Pas, MB in the early part of the last century.
